Good Progress Award for Chinese Language 2024
The Good Progress Award for Chinese Language has been set up to encourage and reward Singaporean primary students for their efforts in learning Chinese Language. The award is given to the student in P4 to P6 level who has shown the greatest improvement in the learning of Chinese Language based on his or her overall performance for Chinese in 2024. Each winner will receive a certificate and $100 popular vouchers.
The following pupils have done exceptionally well. We are pleased to announce the winners for the 2024 Good Progress Award for Chinese Language:

P5 DA VINCI Capstone Award Presentation
Our P5 DA VINCI Capstone Project witnessed the remarkable showcase of young minds tackling the carbon footprint challenge. From inspiring ideas like smart robot composters to heartfelt solutions for our seniors, the West View Innovators of Tomorrow presented their ideas to a group of distinguished judges as well as their peers during P4 to P6 recess.
They received constructive feedback from both external and internal judges Through robotics and coding, our pupils think critically and explore different ways to address authentic issues on energy consumption and wastage. Based on the design challenge given, pupils went through the design thinking process to focus on which sustainable goal they want to work on and developed their prototype in the learning process.
Here are the top 3 teams for the Capstone Projects:

Navarasa Medai 2024
Navarasa Medai is a Tamil Literary Competition organised by the TL unit teachers for pupils to develop and inculcate the joy of learning Tamil through competitions. Each level had a customised competition based on the skills they are learning for the year.

WOW! Publication, our school's literary magazine, aims to promote reading and writing by compiling inspiring stories and fascinating ideas and thoughts from our very own West Viewans.
In Term 1 of 2024, 30 exceptional students have been selected to have their writings published in the Writers of West View Publication (WOW! Publication) for this year.
SASMO
56 pupils from Primary 3 to 5 participated in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO). They put in much effort to prepare for the competition and showed dare and perseverance during the process. 19 of the pupils achieved the following awards.

Rakan Bahasa Ambassador 2024
Rakan Bahasa initiative is organised by the Malay Language Council. Pupils selected to be Rakan Bahasa pupils will be given a set of mission / tasks which revolve around skills such as reading, writing, speaking and other activities that support Malay language learning. This will encourage students who are passionate about the Malay language and culture, to spread the love of the language to their peers, friends and families. Their role is also to share the beauty of the Malay language & to continue promoting it.
Two students are appointed as Rakan Bahasa (Friends of the Language) by the Malay Language Council, Singapore (Majlis Bahasa Melayu Singapura).
