National Primary Schools Story-telling Competition
2018 National Primary School Chinese Story Telling Competition has successfully come to an end. Our Primary 2 student Yin Ying Ning emerged as the Champion, followed by students from Ai Tong Primary and Chong Fu Primary. This competition was jointly organised by the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan, the Singapore Middle School Chinese Teachers’ Association and Kong Hwa School. The objective of the competition is to encourage students to speak confidently in Mandarin. Till now, more than 1300 students had taken part in this competition. This year, the competition attracted 46 local primary schools with a total of 86 participants.
Singapore – Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary School (APMOPS)
APMOPS is organised by Hwa Chong Institution. The main objective of the competition is to generate greater interest in Mathematics among pupils in primary schools and sharpen their problem-solving skills. Congratulations to our pupil Kaiyama Sakuto from 6 Gratitude for receiving the Gold Award in the competition.
YMCA Mandarin Speaking Awards (MSA)
The annual YMCA Mandarin Speaking Awards (MSA) are national level speaking competitions aim to develop students’ thinking and communication skills. We are proud to share that our student Qu Rui Wen of 4 Empathy emerged as Champion and Sun Yuqi of 2 Confidence was awarded Consolation in the YMCA Mandarin Speaking Competition finals at YMCA on 4 May 2018.
Pi-Force Challenge - 26 March 2018
8 pupils from Primary 6F (Faith) and 6G (Gratitude) represented the school in a Pi-Force Challenge organized by Yusof Ishak Secondary School. Participants are: 6F - Mondal Rashi, Wong Zhi Wei, Ong Jing Kai ,and Heidi, Chan Ying Hui; 6G - Godge Avani Mandar, Mahuja Binte Zahir, Mohanty Puja Priya ,and Ben, Tan Jia Cheng.
